1. Is the T@B Travel Trailer difficult to tow? Most people report that they can't even feel the travel trailer behind their car or truck.
2. Can my car or truck tow the T@B Travel Trailer? Several small cars (for example, many Subarus) and all cars and trucks with V6 (6 cyllinder) engines or larger can tow the travel trailer. Check your vehicle's owner's manual for your particular vehicle's towing capacity. The towing capacity should be at least 2500 pounds.
3. Do I need any special equipment to tow the T@B Travel Trailer? Many vehicles are already equipped with a hitch receiver and tow plug outlet. You will need a Class 2, Class 3 or Class 4 hitch receiver installed on your vehicle with a 2 inch ball installed in the ball mount so that the ball is between 17 and 21 inches from the
ground. You will also need a 7 pin circular tow plug outlet so that the running, brake and turning lights will be operational. No electric brake controller is necessary because the T@B Travel Trailer uses surge brakes, not electrical brakes. If all you need is an adapter to adapt your 4 pin electrical connector to a 7 pin electrical connector, make sure that the 7 pin adapter is grounded to the vehicle frame and the adapter is securely installed on the bumper.
4. Where can I have a hitch receiver and the proper electrical connection installed? In most areas, look in the telephone book or Internet directory under "Trailer Hitches". In Marin County, try
Campway's (San Rafael) 415-453-5009
Pick-Em Up Truck (San Rafael) 415-258-9820
Rack N Road (San Rafael) 415-455-5790
U-Haul (San Rafael) 415-457-8400
5. Does my auto insurance policy cover the T@B Travel Trailer or do I need additional insurance? In order to rent the travel trailer, you must verify with your insurance agent that the liability portion of your automobile policy covers you while towing a 2000 pound travel trailer for personal use. Hardtent RV Rental provides insurance on the travel trailer while it is parked for no additional fee.
6. I don't have a car or truck that can tow the T@B Travel Trailer or I'm traveling into the Bay Area from out of town. Can I rent a vehicle to tow the travel trailer? Yes! Hertz Equipment Rentals in Corte Madera (5750 Paradise Drive) rents Ford F250 pickup trucks that are perfect for towing the T@B Travel Trailer. The cost is roughly $79 per day or $341 per week plus $ .22 per mile. If the rental covers a Sunday, renters get the Sunday free as the office is closed that day. Call Hertz at 415-924-4444 to make your reservation. Call early for best availability.

7. Does the T@B Travel Trailer have a bathroom? The travel trailer does not have a bathroom, but Hardtent RV Rental will gladly supply you with a Thetford porta-potti to use during your trip. Many of our customers use campground restrooms.
8. What if I need help while I'm on the road? Hardtent RV Rental is available to its customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer questions regarding operation of the travel trailer's features. In the event of any mechanical difficulty, Hardtent will send the appropriate professional or a replacement travel trailer as soon as possible.
9. Do I need an electrical connection at my campsite or do you supply generators? Most of the T@B Travel Trailer's equipment is operational without an electrical connection using the supplied battery and propane tank. The radio and TV, the A/C (some units) and the electrical outlets are not operational without a source of electricity. A 30 amp or larger electrical connection at the campsite will run all of the trailer's equipment. For longer trips, Hardtent provides customers with an extra battery or a Honda EU2000i generator as a backup power source. Customers may request a generator to run the radio and tv and to provide power to the electrical outlets where the campsite has no electrical hookups. Please note, however, that Hardtent does not supply a generator capable of running the A/C in the absence of an electrical connection at the campsite, and our generators are not sufficient to run the T@B Travel Trailer's A/C system. If you need A/C, please plan to camp where electrical hookups are available. Heat is available regardless of whether there are hookups at the campsite.
10. Can I get cable or satellite TV while camping in the travel trailer? Many private campgrounds offer cable or satellite connections at the campsite. Please ask us to supply you with a CAT5 cable for making the connection. If a cable or satellite TV connection is not available at your campsite, we can provide you with a DIRECTV™ receiver and portable satellite dish. Please reserve DIRECTV™ systems early, since a limited number are available.
11. Can I get access to the Internet while camping in the travel trailer? Many California state parks and private campgrounds offer wireless Internet access (Wi-Fi) to those who have laptops equipped with wireless cards. Some customers equip their laptops with broadband cards from Verizon and other cellular phone service providers which provide wireless Internet access wherever there is cell phone service.
