Your vehicle must be able to tow 2500 pounds GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) in order to tow the T@B travel trailer. This includes the weight of the trailer and 250 pounds of customer gear. Consult your vehicle owner’s manual to determine your vehicle’s towing capacity.
In order to tow the travel trailer, your vehicle will need a hitch receiver installed. The T@B travel trailer requires a minimum Class II receiver. The hitch must have a ball mount, ball mount pin and a 2 inch ball. When installed, the top of the ball must measure between 17 and 21 inches from the ground. In addition, you must have a 7 pin (flat) round connector installed so that the trailer lights will be operational.
If you have a 4 pin connector installed, you may purchase a 4 to 7 pin adapter. Please have the adapter installed (including ground wire) prior to your delivery appointment.
You can have a hitch receiver installed or buy any of the other necessary hitch parts at your local U-Haul dealer (http://www.uhaul.com or 1-800-468-4285) or Camping World (http://www.campingworld.com or 1-888-626-7576).
A Hardtent representative will show you how to hitch and unhitch the travel trailer. You must be able to hitch and unhitch the trailer to your vehicle in order to accept delivery of the T@B travel trailer.
